National Faith Leaders Announce 7 Days of Fasting and Prayer to Urge Trump Administration to Protect DACA and TPS

WASHINGTON, DC – On Tuesday, August 29th, a coalition of faith-based organizations led by the Franciscan Action Network and Disciples Refugee & Immigration Ministries, Church World Service, Sisters of Mercy, and others will announce 7 days of prayer and fasting from August 30 to September 5, imploring the Trump Administration to not repeal Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) and Temporary Protection Status (TPS).  WHO:  Rev. From August 15 to September 5, immigrant and community leaders organized by NAKASEC and the Franciscan Action Network are standing vigil in front of the White House, 24 hours a day, calling on the Trump Administration to protect Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) and Temporary Protection Status (TPS) programs. September 5 is the deadline 10 state Attorney Generals have given President Trump to repeal DACA, putting 800,000 young people at risk of deportation.
