Ha first learned about organizing and canvassing during the election of 2016, and while she was not yet able to vote back then, Ha was able to see the impact of community organizing and the importance of holding elected officials accountable to represent their community’s best interests. Since 2016, Ha has interned or been closely involved with local community organizers such as Office of Senator Mark Warner, SEIU 512, APIA Vote, New Virginia Majority, and Democratic Asian Americans of Virginia as well as volunteered for campaigns of candidates that she believed in. Thus, when Ha cast her first vote in November 2019 after becoming a naturalized citizen earlier that year (she is a first generation Vietnamese American), Ha was already thoroughly informed about who the candidates on her ballot were.

In her current role as the Field & Membership Coordinator with NAKASEC VA, Ha hopes to educate and turn out as many voters as possible in order to amplify the Asian American voices in Northern Virginia in the upcoming election. She previously worked as the Development Associate with Asian American LEAD focusing on grant management and donor stewardship projects.

In her free time, Ha enjoys watching cooking shows, dreaming about her next travel plan, and showing appreciation for the K-POP industry and Broadway performances.
