NAKASEC and Affiliates Joint Statement on “Anchor Babies”

Annandale, VA – NAKASEC Executive Director Dae Joong Yoon, Korean American Resource & Cultural Center Executive Director Inhe Choi, and Korean Resource Center Interim Executive Director Jenny Seon released the following statement today:

“Immigrant communities contribute daily to building a prosperous and vibrant America. NAKASEC and its affiliates condemn any attempt to denigrate a group of people in order to score political points. Divisive rhetoric challenging birthright citizenship, a fundamental component of the Fourteenth Amendment, is not the solution. America is in desperate need of serious, smart, and informed dialogue and action to reform today’s immigration laws. We need strong and courageous leadership that both respects the humanity of immigrants and brings all Americans together to build a brighter future for everyone.”
