At KRCC in Chicago, youth are making calls and stepping up to the text challenge! We’re waiting eagerly on the cloture vote on the Department of Defense (DOD) Bill! While we wait, continue making your calls, because these are the reasons why it’s important we do so:
1. Allows all young people to serve their community
2. Gives access to education
3. Provides a pathway to citizenship
4. Repeals a legislation that discourages undocumented students from being able to receive in-state tuition rates at public colleges and universities
5. Gives immigration benefits for long time residents who grew up in the U.S.
6. Promotes the saying “education is a human right!”
7. Allows students to become eligible to apply for student loans and work study
8. Gives hopes to the students, their family and friends
9. It makes our country brighter
10. It will make the dreams of thousands come true
