Theory of Change
Mission
NAKASEC’s mission is to organize Korean and Asian Americans to achieve social, racial and economic justice. With our network of grassroots-based affiliates, we engage multigenerational Korean and Asian Americans and immigrants.
Vision
Our vision is a future in which low and middle-income, immigrants, people of color, and marginalized communities are working together as change-makers. We have transformed cultures, power relationships, systems, and policies in the United States, all in a broader global context.
Theory of change
The NAKASEC Network believes that bottom-up, grassroots organizing that centers the experiences and voices of those most impacted by systems of social, racial and economic inequities are critical to building a social movement towards liberation of all peoples. Through a holistic approach that includes social services that engage our most vulnerable community members, linguistically and culturally competent community education, community organizing, advocacy, civic engagement and leadership development, our affiliates build the power of local people. Our affiliates come together through NAKASEC to exercise their collective power at the national level, in unity and solidarity with other marginalized communities, towards common goals, values and vision.
