House Leadership has Failed the American People: President Obama Must Act Now
WASHINGTON DC- In response to President Obama’s announcement to take executive action on immigration reform, Dae Joong Yoon, Executive Director of the National Korean American Service and Education Consortium (NAKASEC), issued the following statement:
“The House leadership once again failed the American people and ignored its moral responsibilities. We are very disappointed by the do-nothing House leadership and its dysfunction. Our broken immigration system continues to hurt families across the country. Now, we have no other option but to demand that President Obama do everything in his power to stop the pain and injustice. Our community will remember this lack of leadership within the House and will make them accountable.”
Today, President Obama has made the commitment to act because people are suffering. We urge the President to act quickly and provide immediate relief to undocumented immigrants. This is what the majority of Americans want.
We will continue to educate and organize community members for immigration reform. This is not the end of our fight for our families. Our voices will only grow stronger in the coming months and our movement will be more united than ever.
