NAKASEC Door Knock on National Precinct Walking Day to Urge AAPI Community to Get Out The Vote

NAKASEC, KRC, and KRCC door knocked in California, Illinois, and Virginia

Annandale, VA– On October 26, the National Korean American Service & Education Consortium (NAKASEC) and volunteer community members visited homes in Centerville, Virginia to encourage registered Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) voters to vote on Election Day. NAKASAEC’s local affiliates, the Korean Resource Center (KRC) in Los Angeles, California and the Korean American Resource & Cultural Center (KRCC) in Chicago, also knocked on hundreds of doors for this National Day of Precinct Walking.

Grace Park, a volunteer with NAKASEC, said: “I am precinct walking with NAKASEC to encourage my Korean American neighbors in Centerville to get out the vote this mid-term elections. Decisions made by local, state and federal elects personally affect my family and community. Voting is one way that we can make sure that our immigrant community voices are not ignored. If you are an eligible voter, vote because our community is counting on your vote.”

NAKASEC, KRC, and KRCC invite community partners, students, and families to join the phone banking efforts on October 29 to tell the AAPI community to vote for our immigrant families this year and for America’s future. There are also volunteer opportunities throughout the week (Mondays through Thursdays from 5:30-8pm) to join NAKASEC for phone banking sessions. For more information on how to join, please call (703)-256-2208.
