Emily Kessel – Secretary (Arlington, VA) works for a federal agency at the Department of Commerce in Washington D.C. as a Legislative & Intergovernmental Affairs Specialist. She first became involved with NAKASEC as the Policy Coordinator and Advocacy Director in the Virginia office and is a co-founder and the board chair of Adoptees For Justice which fights for all intercountry adoptees right to U.S. citizenship. Emily also worked at the nonprofit organization Cultural Vistas in Washington D.C. as the Program Director of the Korea WEST program.  She is a Minnesota native and lived in Korea as a Fulbright grantee and M.A. student of the Language Flagship program based in Hawai’i.
