Immigrants and immigrant rights organizations gathered in California’s capitol, Sacramento on May 23 to meet with State Senate and Assembly Members and to rally in front of the capital.Organized by the California Immigrant Welfare Collaborative, the day focused on Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger’s recent proposed budget cuts to vital health and welfare services.These cuts would disproportionately impact immigrant and low-income communities.From KRC, nearly 40 Korean seniors were given an opportunity to voice their concerns directly to legislative staff about the proposed cuts.
