NAKASEC is co-sponsoring training on voter registration and election rules for non-profits put together by the Asian American Legal Defense & Education Fund (AALDEF). The training, “Voter’s Rights, Conducting Voter Registration, and Election Rules for Nonprofits and 501(c)3s,” will be given twice on on Wednesday June 6 and on Thursday, June 7th in Washington D.C. The training is organized specifically for Asian–American community leaders and organizations that engage in voter registration and other election-related work this fall.Among the topics that will be covered include:
- Legal responsibilities in conducting voter registration drives;
- Legal rules regarding electoral and voter education activities for 501 (c)(3)s; and
- Voters’ rights on Election Day regarding interpreters, provisional ballots, and remedies to problems.”
