KRC in the News: LA City Council Passes Resolution to Boycott Arizona

By May 12, 2010No Comments

Today, the Los Angeles City Council voted 13 to 1 in favor of a resolution to denounce SB 1070 and boycott the State of Arizona.  Members of Korean Resource Center (KRC) & NAKASEC attended as part of a larger group of community members, workers and advocates for immigrant rights.  Ms. Ok Sook Yoon, senior member of KRC’s Community Health Promoters, shared her testimony about the importance of opposing anti-immigrant legislation and toward immigration reform.  She shared how she traveled with KRC in April to protest SB 1070 on a Sunday.  Because she is a devout Christian, it was hard for her to miss church, but she shared that it was what Jesus would have done.  For coverage of Ms. Yoon on KTLA, visit http://bit.ly/aDUR3Z.
