Student_2.JPGNAKASEC has focused on ensuring access to education for young people.  We believe everyone, regardless of immigration status, should have access to in-state tuition, scholarships, financial aid, and a pathway to citizenship.

On April 29, 2014, Virginia Attorney General mark herring announced that Virginia law does not prohibit students with DACA from applying for in-state tuition at public colleges and universities.  Young immigrants who have held DACA status for one full year as of the start of a semester or term are eligible for in-state tuition in Virginia.  For more details about in-state tuition for DACA recipients in Virginia, click here for a helpful guide created by Legal Aid Justice Center.
