Program Background

NAKASEC seeks to educate and engage the Korean American community on major civil rights issues regionally and nationally. Some of the issue areas that NAKASEC is currently working on include voting rights, language rights, and hate crimes. This program monitors legislation and policies, produces educational materials and collaborates in coalitions seeking to protect the civil rights of all Americans. Our community outreach efforts have helped Korean Americans develop awareness about civil rights issues, many for the first time.
