Reflections on the 14th Anniversary of 9/11

By September 11, 2015September 17th, 2015No Comments

Today, we join families and community members across the country on the 14th anniversary of the tragedies of September 11th, 2001 and renew our promise to uphold the fundamental American values of family, justice, equality, and diversity.

On this day, we honor and reflect on the thousands of lives lost of family members, neighbors, and leaders in our diverse communities. We also remember those who suffered from hate crimes post-9/11, many of whom were or appeared to be Muslim or Arab American. Today, we recommit to helping those who are facing discrimination, language or immigration barriers, and family separation. And we encourage our elected officials and fellow community members do the same, remembering that as human beings, we want to treat everyone regardless of ethnicity, nationality, religion, or immigration status with dignity and respect.
