On July 12, the National Korean American Service & Education Consortium (NAKASEC) organized an information session on deferred action for undocumented youth at the Korean American Association of Washington Metropolitan Area (KAAWMA), in Annandale, Virginia, an area with a high Korean American population. The information session was led in both English and Korean by Morna Ha, the executive director of NAKASEC, and Eileen Kim, a Korean-American immigration attorney.

Participants learned more about what deferred action is, eligibility requirements, potential disqualifiers and heard answers to frequently asked questions. During the presentation, participants were also able to anonymously ask questions which covered topics such as age requirements, mixed status families, etc. More than 30 people from diverse ethnic backgrounds attended the event.
