It’s almost time. That’s right, NAKASEC’s New Organizing Project (NOP) is back for round three. This weekend, thanks in part to Southwest Airlines, we will welcome three new bloggers to be part of the third generation of NOP and we’ve gotta say that we’re pretty psyched!

This Friday and Saturday, our bloggers will participate in a skills-building training at the NAKASEC office here in the nation’s capital where they will learn about the importance of storytelling, engaging other young people in online dialogues, and how to harness the power of social media to share their stories far and wide.

Who are these mysterious bloggers you may ask? Stay tuned to learn more! For now, we offer you this sneak peek….:

  • Jamie Kim – hails from southern California; youth leader of KRC’s Alliance of Korean American Students in Action (AKASIA)
  • Keish Kim – hails from Atlanta, Georgia; youth leader of Georgia Undocumented Youth Alliance (GUYA) and KRC summer intern
  • Doo Yong Shim – hails from Vienna, Virginia; NAKASEC communications intern

As you can see, we’ve got a fabulous group of engaged young people who will be blogging with us over these next 5 months. Get to know them better by watching our ‘Meet our Bloggers’ video below!

As for the training, follow us on Twitter on Friday and Saturday for live updates! Be sure to also use the hashtag, #NOPit!

We can’t emphasize enough how excited we are to begin this next phase in NOP with our three new bloggers and we hope you are as well! Follow what are sure to be insightful thoughts and conversation-starters from our bloggers on our blog, Facebook and Twitter.
